Music is “Storm,” by my friend, “Doctor J” (Austrian artist I’ve known as a friend since early childhood), from his new album, “Collecting Moments.” All Royalties from the album benefit the Dialysis Children. (European charity). So far this album has raised over 7000 Euro to aid children ailing from kidney diseases. I have full permission to use his music.

Toys for Joy

Posted by admin on December 27th, 2009 and filed under clothing donations | No Comments »

For the past 13 years, Toys for Joy has reached out to Southeastern San Diego. Last year, the Rock Church impacted over 8,000 lives with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. We provided 100,000 articles of clothing, 7,000 toys and 4,000 bags of groceries to families in need. More than 1,200 volunteers and 14 churches partnered to reach this community for Christ.

This year’s event is going to be bigger than ever! We’re anticipating more than 15,000 people to attend. Families will receive free haircuts, health screenings and groceries. Each child will be given a toy and there will also be a community fair for adults, all with the purpose to share the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How You Can Help
Volunteer
We need 1,500 volunteers.

Monetary Donations
We will need $50,000 to make this event possible.
You can also use your recyclables to bring JOY. A portion of the money raised from recycling at the Launch Pad between October 18 – December 6 will be used for Toys for Joy.

Toy and Clothing Donations
Our goal is to collect 10,000 toys and 125,000 articles of clothing.

Come be a part of this Christmas tradition on December 12 and share the love of Christ with others. For toys, clothing, monetary donations, and information on volunteering, visit our booth in the lobby.

What is the minimum donation that Planned Parenthood requires for Birth Control?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under donation | No Comments »

I have an appointment with Planned Parenthood tomorrow to get birth control. The guy on the phone said that I qualify for free birth control pills (since I’m a student and don’t have an income) but I am required to give a donation. Does anyone know the minimum donation required and what is a good amount to give? Thanks!

I would personally say it depends on the services they provide and the amount of pills they give you. I would probably make a 10-20% donation. So say an exam is 120 and pills 40 a month $20-40 for a years supply of pills $50 atleast.

How do you donate magazines to a hospital?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under donate | 15 Comments »

I have a lot of teenage magazines from about 4 years ago which I don’t need anymore, they are in pretty much mint condition so it seems a shame to just chuck them in the recycling box. I’d like to donate them to my hospital. (They never have any teen magazines there, they’re always Saga or Eczema Society ones).
How would I go about doing this? Just put them in a box and take them to reception?

Thanks.

They usually have an office for donations of any kind.

I send a subscription to a local hospital because my niece always sells me one for school every year and I don’t need it.

What organizations or charities will pick up donations in Rochester, NY?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under charities donations | 2 Comments »

I have a small computer desk, home PC (with hard drive files already shredded), LOTS of clothes, books, etc that I would like to donate. Since I have a small car I would need the organization to offer pick up service.

Call Heritage Christian Services and see if they will pick it up for thier thrift store.

God Bless.

Where can I ask for money donations for a cultural exchange trip to mexico?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under money donations | 2 Comments »

such as; a church, community center etc…

it depends what exchange program you are using. if you use rotary you can ask your sponsor club (the one in your home town). i mean i asked my relatives because i feel guilt when they could be using that money to get people off of the street. get a job and work for it. i paid for some of mine and i got the rest for christmas and birthday.

Donations Poll: Goodwill or Salvation Army? Which actually gives back more to the community?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under goodwill donations | 16 Comments »

Trying to decide who to give to

Salvation Army. Salvation Army is the largest Non-Profit organization in the world and has locations in more countries than any one business in the world as well.

Most clothing donations go to their warehouses and gets shipped to 3rd world countries but some stay in the local communities and go to the Salvation Army Thrift stores to help with the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Programs.

From their the leftovers go to the Family Shelters or Homeless Shelters.

I would go to the Salvation Army headquarters located in your city and find out which program needs volunteering work and see for yourself what type of impact they have on your community and make up your mind from there.

Also, whatever you donate, Thanks. It will go to a great and admirable cause.
