i want to deduct my clothes donation and my tithes donation can I?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under clothes donations | 4 Comments »

i donated about 200.00 in clothes and i recieved my annual tithes report i want to know on what line do I report this information on the 1040

They go on Schedule A, specifically lines 16 & 17. It’s advisable to get a receipt on non-cash donations, but for amounts under $500 value, not absolutely necessary.

The bad news is that if you don’t have enough to itemize you can’t use them.

As for Ryan’s opinion that a tithe is somehow not a donation, I don’t know where it comes from, but it’s wrong.

Who will take our office furniture as a donation in Pico Rivera, Southern California?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under furniture donations | 1 Comment »

We have several wooden and metal office desk and chairs. Need to be taken away as soon as possible.

I tried Salvation Army, but they do not take metal furniture.

try calling schools to see if they need them or since they are metal, try recycling centers that take the metals and get money for it.
also, im in barstow and Burrtec Trash has a truck for old furniture and such so call the trash company to see if they have a furniture p/u.

How can I get donations for software development through a blog? Is there a better way?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under donations | 1 Comment »

How can someone get donations/funds for a software that will be offered free? I was told to create a blog and create incentives but i am so lost at this point.

All of the donations will go for developing the software but how do i get that across to people reading the site?

Is there a site out there that will help me get funds for the project?

What about finding angel investors, how to see if they are who they say they are or are they scammers?

That could be pretty tough – they have nothing to gain from it, and any donation isn’t tax deductible – why would they donate to YOU rather than somewhere else?

Angel investors, venture capitalists, hope to see some return on their investment.

What are the legal ramifications for running a public charity(taking donations) for a year w/o be registered ?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under charity donations | 2 Comments »

Registered with the IRS I mean..

I have a relative who makes a few bucks a month(seriously, like only $5) with his online public charity each month. I don’t want him to get into trouble for it so this info. will help.
He’s only made a total of $35 since he started.

If he is not set up as a non-profit corporation and registered with the state as such, he is probably breaking local laws. If he has not applied to the IRS for tax exemption, which now costs $700 or more, then he owes taxes on the money.
The best way to do this kind of thing is to treat the money handling as a small business – collecting the money as income and doing what is necessary with the money (buying charitable donations) so that it is expenses against the income and paying taxes on the small balance. (Schedule C)
There is so much fraud in charitable collecting that naive do-gooders get caught in the enforcement.

Does anyone know of any place that takes clothing donations in the Clear Lake/South Houston area?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under clothing donations | 3 Comments »

I am supposed to donate about 200 brand new t-shirts to a local charity, but I’m having difficulties finding them!

I think Purple Heart might pick up, so that is sounding promising.
My church was actually the first place I asked. They don’t have room for clothing donations and they give to a Catholic charity, but it’s in downtown..

Check with the Star of Hope. The Purple Heart is another great idea. There are other military donations sites as well. Check the links below. Good luck! :o )

Never again will our information be stunted or censored for any reason. If you have been asking yourself what you can do to keep the movement of Patriotism going strong here is your chance to make a difference.
Our network radio will be internet based and will have several personalities that will cover a wide range of the spectrum of news you get form the Youtube Patriot movement and other alternative news sources. This has been in the planning now for about a month and we could not be more excited about this project.
We will have four different studios placed around the country so the info will come somewhere from your neck of the woods. Topics covered by the Patriots will always be cutting edge and given to you by the same great Americans that you subscribe to and wait to see on YouTube.
All of this will be done with money raised by the Patriot Movement and brought to you for free. No monthly charges or fees. No credit card hassles. Our info will always be free to you without any corporate interference. There will be nothing extra to buy if you come to us for news you will get it.
Many of you have seen our information taken away or not allowed due to content. This will never happen here because we will only answer to ourselves. If you love your country and you want to help us bring you the truth about whats going on right under the nose of Americans Pleas give now.

Our group is totally funded by monetary gifts from its members and real American Patriots who understand our cause and want to bring our freedoms back to the People.

We are asking for a minimum of a 10.00 donation. Any amount will be appreciated and as always if the economy has left you in a ruff position, please send your prayers.

TV Nation – Donations for Jeffrey Dahmer

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under donations | 8 Comments »

A segment from Michael Moore’s TV Nation (1994) which investigates how junk mail is used to raise money for various causes. Using a “direct mail” expert, donation funds are set up for savings & loan felon Charles Keating, Jeffrey Dahmer, and correspondent Roy Sekoff and sent them out in a test to see which mailers would receive the most response.

This video is not meant to infringe on any copyrights, but to share this amazing show of Moore’s with those who didn’t catch it the first time around on television, especially as TV Nation has not been made commercially available to purchase.
