Donations NOT to send

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2010 and filed under clothes donations | 2 Comments »

Even though people mean well, a lot of people make mistakes during donations. People are unaware that sending non monetary donations can actually create more chaos for the disaster site. With the recent Haiti
earthquake scences, this video is probably too late in reaching the millions of clothes, medicine, water, food, and blanket donars. May this video help point out the common mistakes you made.

Medical & Housing Updates. Plus Outreaches and Donations All This Week

Posted by admin on April 27th, 2010 and filed under clothes donations | 6 Comments »

This week I really have my work cut out for me with all the medical appointments I have, plus all the outreaches planned for this week. Last week a supporter donated several bags of mens clothes and today Sunday I got many bags of baked goods. The items that were donated by Crystal for Judy were far too small so they will be used for an outreach to Shriners Hospital for Children.

Donations for 4 different outreaches

Posted by admin on April 24th, 2010 and filed under clothes donations | 6 Comments »

Today I picked up donations from my friend Birgitta who had some clothes and shoes for me. As it turns out I will be able to do 4 different outreaches with these donations. 4 because she also provided food as well. The children’s clothes will be split between two outreaches. One to a family that is low income and the other to Shriners Hospital for Children. The remainder of the clothes will go to an organization that provides services to low income families. I will go to the 99 cent store to get things to round out the meal for bag lunches. www.dosomethingsaturday.org

I called a friend and asked what they could donate in the way of clothes, shoes, toys, blankets. I’ve got a full carload. Mum also went through heaps of stuff and she donated Kids clothes, womens clothes and blankets. As you can tell, I sound fairly flat in this vid. Had a lot on my mind.

Where to donate clothes out of the country?

Posted by admin on April 16th, 2010 and filed under clothes donations | 1 Comment »

My company has a large amount of children’s clothing to donate. However it must be sent to a country outside of the US. Does anybody know of any accredited organizations that accept clothing donations?

American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Goodwill (all ship outside the US). Many local churches have missions that would love your donation. Hope this helps.

Charity Shops In Need

Posted by admin on April 15th, 2010 and filed under clothes donations | 2 Comments »

Though sales are up British charity shops, similar to good will stores, are in need of clothing donations. As Amy Guttman reports, the recession has people holding on to old clothes instead of buying.
