I want to start a carity group that would collect food/money/and clothing donations and then give it to those?

who don’t have. My questions are:

1)is this what a foundation does?
2)what do i have to do to get started(if possible a website that would help me)?
3)how old you have to be to have a charity opened?
4)will i have to listen to NYC laws about who gets clothes or food or can i make my own acceptance law?
5)what should i do to raise food/money/and clothes once the charity opens?
6)is there a way i could get money from the state to help me fund this?
i want this to be a non-profit organization

My advice is to find an organization that’s already performing those duties and volunteer from them for a while. Starting up a non-profit is a major undertaking. Start finding other people who are interested in working with you. You’re going to need legal help, accounting, etc. It really is a lot like starting up a business.

The idea is great but do you have any idea how difficult it will be to run it? How do you raise money, how do you decide who gets the help, how do you get it to them…

I think you should start and concentrate on a home business and affiliate yourself to an organisation that have the resources and experience in helping those less fortunate.

I am involved in a buisness that lets me earn good money and also let you contribute to their charity pool.
