Hi, here is a collection of warm up exercises for Rock Guitar!! I am about to shoot a Rock Guitar tuition DVD, it will feature loads of cool Orange amps and will be aimed at intermediate rock guitar players featuring:

Exercises for Economy and alternate picking
Hand positioning and ergonomics
Legato and sweeping
Rock/Blues Licks
Scale connection
Pro tips on developing speed & accuracy.

This hour long DVD will be available at the end of Sept, and will cost £12.99. If you are interested in a copy just mail me with your name and email and I will notify as soon as it’s come off the line.
I offer private video guitar tuition! Here is how it works. Before the lesson we discuss your goals, artist influences, and specific areas you would like to concentrate on. Then you send me a short 5 minute video of your technique. I will study your technique and craft a personalized instruction and coaching video for you tailored to your specific needs. This is burnt to a CD in MPG4 format. Each lesson is 30 minutes long.

Also you may want to check out my intervalic CD (Which covers the foundation theory for modal playing) because it’s great… I even use it and I made it ha ha!! It’s kinda my secret weapon… Its £9.99 plus p&p, Check out www.intervalictuition.com for all the details.

    its not the same play for example solo of ” as i am ” and” layla”…i think u need warm up more for dream theater song …but ok its a personal thing,dont wanna argue for no reason,its important to play nothing else matters….cheers ^^

  15. zer0dahero Says:

    @ …
    @ prorgressivebrainscan, Dude, I wonder if anyone has seen santana, eric clapton, van halen or other great players actually doing this… They don’t, they pick up an actual guitar and play to warm up. There is no substitute for mohogany and rosewood on your hand and strings under your fingers. A half hour of extended scale practice will serve you much more than a half hour of silly hand gestures. But i guess you know best. This guy is pretty good but not by doing “jazz” hands but by playing

    @zer0dahero
    dude if petrucci on his instructional video tells u to stretch ur fingers then do it! try it,ull actually could warm ur fingers faster while playing…

    He’s a pretty good …
    He’s a pretty good player but I guarantee you all that he does NOT do the exercises the suggest one should do. Especially the fist 3. They are useless and only waste your time when you could be putting your fingers on actual strings. He’s kind of full of crap in a way cause I just know he doesn’t do the things he suggest us to do.
