Ive always talked about registering for organ donation and I’d also like to donate blood. How old do I have to be? Im 17, turning 18 in May.
in the uk you can donate blood from age 17 as long as you are over 8 stone in weight
organ donation has no age limit, though in the uk you can carry an organ donor card from 17 stating that you wish to have your organs donated when you die.

in the united states (or texas at least, thats where i live)
organ donation can be done under the age of 18 with parental consent (in the case of death) with healthy blood, organ, etc.
organ donation can be done over the age of 18 with healthy blood, organ, etc.
blood can be given at the age of 16 with parental consent, you must weigh 120 lbs.
blood can be given at the age of 17 without parental consent, you must weich 110 lbs.
blood can be given over the age of 18 withour parental consent, you must weigh (100 or 110?) lbs.
in all cases of blood donation: you cannot have gotten a tattoo in the last year, you must not have any stds. before you give blood they ask you a TON of questions about all this stuff.

In California, you can sign up to be an organ donor on the Donate Life California Registry at the age of 13, but parental consent is still required for anyone under 18 (babies and children are donors as well).
