    @109876Bk it …
    @109876Bk it depends what style u r into. if ur into people like paul gilbert , andy timmons, steve morse (like me) i’d reccomend AP . and its the benchmark for most of the licks on the planet (ie 3 note per string patterns which most shredders adopt). economy picking ( if ur into fast shredders like shawn lane, frank gambale) can be used aswell for 3 note per string but for IMO it isnt as consistant . its opinion but id reccomend using alternate picking .

    So then …
    Part 2/2

    So then, does using your wrist have any negative affects on your performance besides speed, seeing as I’m satisfied with that (if so, how) or does it simply hurt more (doesn’t hurt for me).

    And if the relaxing thing’s true, I’m gonna have to really work on that. I get pretty tense and weird about my performance. So thanks.

    Just a quick …
    Just a quick question. I never learned the finger-thumb thing, and didn’t know about the elbow joint till my muscle memory was used to using primarily my elbow joint (although according to my teacher I also use my wrist somewhat, I don’t see it). I’ve been watching a lot of the guys on youtube recently and they’ve been using their wrists primarily, and kinda have been trying to figure out if it’s worth it to work on changing my technique (hence the how to pick youtube lessons).

    So this is just a beginner lesson, or for ppl that have bad picking motion. Really nothing new here. I use either: Dunlop Ultex 2 mil (hetfield or hammett’s picks, forget which) and a 3 mill dunlop big stubby (kinda a larger jazz 3 mill). The ultex are perfect for motion economy but need to make 3 mil!!!!
