What are some ideas to set up donations for a friend that was recently diagnosed with cancer?

I recently found out a good friend of mine and recent co-worker was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer is already in stage 4. I feel like i need to do somthing to help her. I thought about setting up donations but im just not sure what to do or how to go about getting them set up.

I would steer clear of the American Cancer Society and instead give the money to charities that help patients pay for there treatments. The ACS is a scam and has wasted millions, if not billion for years.

The American Cancer Society has good ideas for fund raisers. Look around your area and see what is available for free where you could hold bake sale. A friend of mine organized a fund raiser, rented the local civic center, (at a discounted price), and got together with the towns local talents, like bands and magic acts, she charged a small admission price and had food and drinks available. It was a huge success. It did take a couple months to organize, and with the help of local merchants she was able to print the flyers, and get the food stuffs at a greatly reduced price.
Check with your local chamber of commerce and find out about permits though. Good luck and many blessings to your friend and family.
