Metro Detroiters can support their unemployed friends and neighbors by helping Bon-Ton and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit collect monetary donations and stuff a truck with clean, gently used clothing and textiles Wednesday, September 16 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Parisian at Laurel Park in Livonia, as well as Elder-Beerman in Howell and Parisian locations at The Village of Rochester Hills Mall in Rochester Hills and Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township.

Donations will support Goodwill Industries job training programs and career services helping residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb secure jobs by overcoming barriers to employment. Goodwill Industries is the only organization solely dedicated to fighting unemployment in Metro Detroit.

Donors will receive a Goodwill Sale coupon for 20 percent off apparel and 15 percent off cosmetics valid at participating Metro Detroit Parisian and Elder-Beerman stores from Wednesday, September 16 through Tuesday, September 29.

As a special kickoff to the event, on September 16, donors can double their reward for participating as they will receive two Goodwill Sale coupons for each donated item.

From September 16 until the end of the campaign, shoppers also will receive two coupons when dropping off a completed Goodwill Pay It 4ward envelope containing $25 or more at a participating location. Pay It 4ward centers around envelopes to be filled with dollar bills, passed from person to person, until they reach 25 people. More information on the campaign can be found at http://www.payit4warddetroit.org. New envelopes will be available for pickup at each store.
