How can a 501(c)(3) organization solicit donations for money and goods.?

I belong to a 501(c)(3) organization that needs to raise funds and obtain toys for our annual Christmas toys for elementary school children in low-income families.

Solicit businesses and individuals face to face, asking them to send their checks and things to a third party like a bank or a church.

You can always write companies with your Orginaztions letterhead… you may also want to do a toy drive… host an event where the entry fee is a new unwrapped toy! That works really well too. My community also does an Angel Tree, no names are on it, but a wish list with the gender, age, etc (community groups know true identities) people take angels off the tree and collect them there and distribute gifts before the holidays…. good luck
