AJ Rafael My Soldier + Ondoy Relief Info [HealPhilippines]

Posted by admin on April 3rd, 2010 and filed under money donations | 25 Comments »

a song i wrote in 2005.
dedicated to the hundreds of thousands in our country suffering at the moment.
240+ lives lost, many missing, 400,000+ individuals displaced. another storm is brewing in the pacific that may hit this coming thursday. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090929/ts_nm/us_philippines_typhoon

there are a couple of ways to help!

quickest way imo is thru monetary donations
http://www.redcross.org.ph/Site/PNRC/Default.aspx?S=48&SS=972
select “typhoon ondoy” from the dropdown menu (about 47 pesos = $1)
Red Cross also provides other ways to give:
http://www.redcross.org.ph/Site/PNRC/wtd.aspx

their government is making it extremely difficult for in-kind donations. Island Pacific supermarkets are accepting donations at these NorCal & SoCal locations:
http://www.islandpacificmarket.com/socal_locales.htm

lots of ways provided by google:
http://www.google.com/landing/typhoon-ondoy.html
even SMS text messaging!

enter coupon code HELPONDOY for free money transfer donation to PNRC. Valid til Fri, Oct9 2009.

LYRICS-
MY SOLDIER (c) 2005 AJ RAFAEL
VERSE
When you’re feeling sad and blue, don’t you know that I will always,
Be here for you.
When everything just makes us go out of our minds, just know that I will always,
Have the time for you.
You say that I am your influence. You should know that you inspire me.
Now until the end.
I’ll help you get through the thick and thin and I know you’ll remember when.
I say.

CHORUS
You are strong, strong as a soldier. Even when winds are tough you’ll always keep it together. You are strong, strong as a soldier. I know you’ll get through anything. ‘Cause you’re strong, strong, strong as a soldier.

VERSE
When the waves are crashing down. Can’t get up. Just know I’ll,
Pick you up from the ground.
When it feels like everything goes wrong, just remember to listen to this song.

CHORUS
You are strong, strong as a soldier. Even when winds are tough you’ll always keep it together. You are strong, strong as a soldier. I know you’ll get through anything. ‘Cause you’re strong, strong, strong as a soldier.

BRIDGE
Don’t you worry about the obsticles to your happiness. If you let them get to you, you’ll end up just like the rest. I know you’re better than those people who get in the way. Just remember what I always say.

CHORUS
You are strong, strong as a soldier. Even when winds are tough you’ll always keep it together. You are strong, strong as a soldier. I know you’ll get through anything. ‘Cause you’re strong, strong, strong as a soldier. You are are strong, strong, strong as a soldier. Strong, strong, strong as a soldier.

World Blood Donation Day with Josie and Furious!

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2010 and filed under donation | 25 Comments »

Because it’s world blood donation day I figured I should show you the footage we shot when we went to donate blood in January.
It’s something Dean and I do every three months and Natalie from the communitychannel wanted to do a video about it (in relation to this campaign that would start there in February) and she had asked Dean to shoot it… Unfortunately, it kept being delayed because of the fire victims in Victoria, the blood donation campaign in Sydney was delayed, as they were flooded with people who wanted to help and they decided to try and help out instead of going through with the campaign…

Long story short: Nat said I could go ahead and post it and didn’t have to wait for her posting it first, so you guys get the scoop! :)
(… from January…)

Hope you like it!
Don’t forget to leave a comment and tell me what you think about donating blood!

Intro: “Making Me Nervous”
During: “Dropping out of school”

Vlog: Future with YouTube, Haiti Donations, Donated Items for Review and Blog Giveaway

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2010 and filed under donations | 25 Comments »

Hi guys. I have to tell you that it is really nice to be back and have goals regarding my channel and blog that include making videos on a very regular basis. The weather and work have been limiting the time I had available for my videos over the past six weeks. However, the weather is calming down, thus work being easier and I am looking forward to dedicating more and more time to my videos and my blog. It also feels good to know that those that were actually sent me negative messages, have actually motivated me to make many more videos and have giveaways for those that enjoy my videos. So, thank you to the haters, but an even bigger thank you to those that have always supported me. I recognize many of the name in the comments and love to see when my videos are rated and get comments. I always get back to you. Sometimes it takes a few days, but I always read them and will write back. THANKS EVERYONE:)

I hope to have a giveaway at least once a month either on my channel or blog, but this will be the last time I announce the blog giveaway. I will only be posting the giveaway on my blog from now on and then announcing the winner on my channel. All you have to do is follow and comment when the giveaway is posted then you are entered. To enter the drugstore grab bag giveaway, just enter you comment here:

I absolutely love her blog and count on her reviews to help me make many of my decisions, especially when it comes to upcoming MAC collections and new Urban Decay products. Many of my purchases over the past six months that I love now have been due to her daily emails…I love receiving her daily emails. Sephora gets an order quite a bit after receiving emails from Christine:) Some I adore also, some I don’t, but I still love to hear what she has to say. I am also loving her recent drugstore product reviews as I just refuse to pay $42 for a lipstick, but don’t ever buy drugstore lipsticks…so I am loving her lipstick reviews. However, I love most other drugstore products. SIgn up for her montly newsletter…her last one was also about the new “hot pink” trend and ways to incorporate hot pink if you are not used to the color. Lovin’ the new pink trend and aqua blue trend!

Before you text money to organizations…

Posted by admin on January 15th, 2010 and filed under money donations | No Comments »

Make sure your kindness isn’t taken for granted.

Do your research.

My husband and I trust our donations to Doctors Without Borders.
They have high ratings due to their ethical practices with donation money.

http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/

http://www.charitywatch.org/hottopics/Haiti.html

They were in Haiti BEFORE the earthquake providing much
needed care to people.

Three of their hospitals were destroyed in Haiti during this earthquake.

So before you follow everyone else and text money to large organizations,
do your research.

Some organizations have records of corruption and mismanagement of donation money.
i.e. 9/11, Katrina, etc.

How come Red Cross is only pledging $1 million dollars to Haiti when they’ve collected OVER $3 million these past few days? Really WHY?
They do this all the time. Even though you *think* you are donating to Haiti, you’re REALLY helping
their general fund. It’s *legal* but it is wrong!

It’s a shame. But it has happened MORE than once.

The people in Haiti need our help.
