Donations for 4 different outreaches

Posted by admin on April 24th, 2010 and filed under clothes donations | 6 Comments »

Today I picked up donations from my friend Birgitta who had some clothes and shoes for me. As it turns out I will be able to do 4 different outreaches with these donations. 4 because she also provided food as well. The children’s clothes will be split between two outreaches. One to a family that is low income and the other to Shriners Hospital for Children. The remainder of the clothes will go to an organization that provides services to low income families. I will go to the 99 cent store to get things to round out the meal for bag lunches. www.dosomethingsaturday.org

QTMC Feed The Needy Campaign-Change The World

Posted by admin on April 21st, 2010 and filed under furniture donations | 2 Comments »

“Help Us To Help Others”. QTMC, Inc. will again host its “Thanksgiving Feed/Clothe/Shelter the Homeless/Needy” program at QTMC/CENTERSTAGE for a 24-hour period from 6:00pm Wednesday 11-21-2007, until 6:00pm Thanksgiving Thursday 2007. We request your financial contribution in order to help alleviate the challenge to cover food, clothing, and shelter expenses to provide winter refuge for the homeless/needy. Please make your gift certificate or check payable to QTMC, Inc., and we will promptly mail a tax-deductible receipt to you for your income tax purposes. Your family is invited to volunteer to serve meals for any 1-hour period during the 24-hour winter kickoff. Also you’re invited to attend our Thanksgiving Fundraiser Dance on Friday, November 16, 2007. Your generosity and gracious donations are appreciated.

Many underprivileged families and homeless persons will come in out of the Michigan cold because QTMC/CENTERSTAGE is often the only place in town still open on holidays or weekends. We will be able to accommodate them with blessings made possible by your contributions. Your kindness will help QTMC, Inc. to help in a variety of ways:
• Provides temporary warming facilities and individual emergency blankets.
• Provides nutritious, balanced meals.
• Provides transportation to/from Baldwin Warming Center (in 3 family vehicles) on inclement-weather days.
• Assists homeless with personal hygiene care and winter clothing.
• Purchases hard-to-find clothes for over-size persons.
• Promotes family unity by encouraging and assisting homeless to write letters to estranged family.
• Allows CENTERSTAGE address to be used to receive mail (in lieu of “General Delivery”).
• Allows telephone to be used free-of-charge when seeking employment, shelter, or transportation.
• Employs homeless persons as day-labor for building or yard maintenance and specialized repairs.
• Provides “community service” employment in order for their Food Stamp eligibility.
• Conducts Bible Study with homeless as often as possible.
• Provides bus fare or transportation as applicable to various odd jobs.
• Allows needy families to go grocery shopping in the CENTERSTAGE food pantry, from foods donated.
• Allows storage room to be used as locker room to store worldly possessions.
• Receives and donates gently used clothing.
• Provides recreational center activities (television, billiards, playing cards, and checkers).
• Provides financial donation to wheelchair-bound homeless persons and amputees (frequently in Detroit).
• Visits and worships with Oakland County Jail women prison inmates.
• Provides furniture, clothing, groceries, & financial donation to fire victim families.
• Provides financial assistance to subsidize short-term shelter.

We are compelled to do this because: Luke 14:12-13 Jesus said “When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors, but when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind. And thou shalt be blessed.” Our personal mission statement that we’ve adopted is to “Live your life in such a way that those who know you, but don’t know Christ, will come to know Christ because they know you.” That’s why we share friendly conversation, and treat everyone with the utmost compassion, respect, and dignity at QTMC/CENTERSTAGE.

We are genuinely grateful, and we would like to also take this opportunity to extend a long-overdue but sincere “Thank You” to the individuals from the following companies for their major contributions that ensured the success of our “QTMC 20-Year Anniversary” celebration on May 20th: COBB’S Funeral Home, Student Leadership Services, Allen Entertainment, Hubert Distributors, Oakland Press, AAA-Birmingham, Delta Fortitude Foundation, T&C Credit Union, Whole Foods, and Michigan Food & Beverage Association. “Thank You” for making this a memorable occasion for all families receiving your gracious Thanksgiving gift for this 10th year tradition, and your encouragement to QTMC Music Group for the 20th year.

For QTMC, Inc., Sincerely,

David Coleman & Steven Coleman

CHILDRENS WISH LIST FOUNDATION® goal is to provide Child Sponsorship, where we not only address the physical and educational needs of a child, but also contribute to family permanency, allowing children to stay with their families in the country in which they were born. The further we
reach the more likely it is that a child begins the long climb out of poverty toward a more hopeful future. Please help by sharing our mission with loved ones and your community.
